Ten Year Anniversary Series

Detroit City Distillery is turning ten years old in 2024 and to celebrate in true DCD fashion we're releasing a bunch of bottles throughout the year.  Every month starting in May we will be releasing a limited-edition bottle, either something brand new for DCD, or a release from the DCD archive.

Taste the History. Toast to Revival.

shutdown single barrel bourbon

In March of 2020 our world shut down. Instead of making whiskey every day we started making hand sanitizer. All in all, we made 25,000 gallons for first responders, hospitals, and essential businesses.

After a few months of The Shutdown we thought everyone could use something to help get through the tough times. So we decided to release 120 proof four grain bourbon. It was a fan favorite in 2020 and four more years has only made it better. This one will sanitize your hands, and cleanse your soul.

JP created Butcher’s Cut Bourbon to honor the life and legacy of his grandfather Yogi, who lost his finger making a whiskey barrel and later, after World War II, was a butcher in Detroit’s Eastern Market next to the slaughterhouse that we transformed into our distillery. The result was a timeless and true bourbon with exceptional character, just like the man that inspired it.

These brandy barrel finished versions of our award-winning Butcher's Cut Bourbon is our way of highlighting the history of Yogi for Father's Day, and adding refreshing notes of classic Michigan fruits that make for perfect summertime pours.
